Area of care
Podiatry in St Kilda.
Foot and lower limb care from Sunda Alexopoulos, a podiatrist who consults on site at Chapel Street Medical Centre in St Kilda.

Podiatry is in the same building as your GP, so foot care can sit alongside the rest of your care rather than across town.
What it covers
Sunda Alexopoulos assesses and treats a wide range of foot and lower limb conditions, consulting on site at 125 Chapel Street. Podiatry appointments are booked by phone through reception.
What does a podiatrist treat?
Podiatrists look after the feet, ankles and lower legs. People commonly see one for:
- Toenail problems, including thickened and ingrown nails
- Corns, calluses and cracked heels
- Heel, arch and forefoot pain
- Regular foot checks for people with diabetes or poor circulation
- Foot care that has become hard to manage on your own
If you aren't sure whether podiatry is the right place to start, call reception, or raise it at your next appointment with Dr Battat.
Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?
Not to see a podiatrist privately. A referral only matters if you want Medicare to contribute, which happens through a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan that includes podiatry.
Is podiatry covered by Medicare?
It can be. Podiatry is one of the allied health services available under a chronic condition management plan, where your GP decides it's clinically appropriate and refers you for it.
Where podiatry is included in a chronic condition management plan, there is no out-of-pocket cost for those appointments at Chapel Street.
Medicare covers up to five allied health services a year across every profession combined. If you've already used some on physiotherapy or another service, fewer are left for podiatry. There's more on how plans work under chronic condition management.
What does it cost without a plan?
Private podiatry fees aren't published on this site. Call reception and they can tell you what an appointment will cost before you book.
How do I book?
Call reception on (03) 9534 5151. Online booking on this site is for appointments with Dr Battat, so podiatry is arranged by phone, and reception can tell you when Sunda is next consulting.
Free parking and accessible entry are at the rear of the building, and the practice is close to both tram and train.
